About Me

SULEMANA BRAIMAH
Sulemana is the Deputy Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), an independent freedom of expression and media development organisation based in Accra, Ghana. He currently serves on the 12-member Governing Council of the Canada-based International Freedom of Expression Exchange (IFEX), a global network of 95 independent freedom of expression and media development organisations. He has worked on various Media Capacity Building, Research and Communication Strategy projects with and/or for a number of organisations. He has presented a number of papers on Media and Human rights at several local and international conferences and recently facilitated a major Workshop on “Promoting Information and Media Literacy in Africa” during the maiden Pan African Conference on Access to Information (PACAI) held in Cape Town, South Africa. He holds a Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ from the University of Cape Coast, Diploma in journalism from the Correspondence School of Journalism, Bachelors Degree (Sociology with Philosophy- University of Ghana), and M.Phil in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana (with Research work at the University of Manitoba, Canada.)
